Baseball Hall Of Fame

In the fall of 2005, The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, conducted an extensive renovation of their Women in Baseball exhibit (originally opened in 1988). The new exhibit, “Skirting the Diamond” now called “Diamond Dreams: Women in Baseball,” updates the story of girls and women playing baseball since the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Because of our success the Pawtucket Slaterettes Girls’ and Women’s Baseball League was asked to submit a Slaterettes Jersey for the exhibit.

Our jersey is seen by 335,000 visitors annually, illustrating the achievements of our league and the girls in it. This shows that an organization supporting girls playing a “mans” sport can succeed and enjoy community support.

We were not only chosen because we are the oldest and largest organization, but because of the stability of the Slaterettes. Slaterettes have been making dreams come true since 1973.
